Hi Troy,
 There is no vanilla extract in this recipe. The weather does make a difference when making candy. If it&#039;s humid, it seems like the candy never sets up quite right. I&#039;ve used this recipe many times and never had trouble getting it to set up but it&#039;s usually around the holidays when it isn&#039;t so humid in Oklahoma.
