These onion rings made with your spice blend are phenomenal!!! To us they taste just like the “blooming onion” from Outback but just a little milder. I did only use half the cayenne pepper in the recipe. Won’t ever cook them any other way or buy frozen now! Thank you!!

In reply to Sandy. *jaw drops to floor, eyes pop out of sockets accompanied by trumpets, heart beats out of chest, awooga awooga sound effect, pulls chain on train whistle that has appeared next to head as steam blows out, slams fists on table, rattling any plates, bowls or silverware, whistles loudly, fireworks shoot from top of head, pants loudly as tongue hangs out of mouth, wipes comically large bead of sweat from forehead, clears throat, straightens tie, combs hair* Ahem, you look very lovely.

In reply to Kelly. You'd have to coat (spray) the onions with enough oil to completely moisten the flour coating. These are best fried.

There used to be a small restaurant in Marion Iowa, called “the Maidrite”. This is how they made their onion rings, and they were fabulous! Friends and I would go there just for the onion rings. I’ve made them at in home in a deep fat fryer, it works really well, but it does leave a lot of flour in the grease.
