Hi Brittany,
Glad y'all enjoyed it. Cooking over coals has a learning curve for sure. My husband gets it right every time and I always burn something. Thanks for stopping by.

I made this on a camping trip and it was so great! I have a cast iron lid for my cast iron skillet. We put the skillet directly in the coals and put coals on the lid as well. It turned out to be one of the best camp breakfasts we have ever had. I'll need to do some testing to find the right timing, though. The bottoms of the biscuits were burned because of the high heat on the coals and the outer layers was darker than we wanted. Perhaps all we need to do is get ourselves a camp fire trivet to lift the skillet up a bit. It was still a big hit, though!

Hi Carla,
I haven't tried it but I really don't see any reason why it wouldn't do just fine. Let me know how it turns out if you do.

Kimberly,
I do think you could skip cutting the biscuits in quarters to save time. I just wanted to bite-sized portions. I hope you like it!

Just put this in the oven. We are kinda cheese snobs, sorry, so grated up some cheddar, manchego, and Oaxaca, way cheaper to buy the pregrated of course. But it smells so good.
My question, do you think you could just not quarter the bisquits and use them whole, just to cut down on time?
Thanks for the recipe! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi John, I don't have those photos. You just cut the biscuits into 4 pieces and flatten them (to no particular shape) and then add the sausage and then pinch the dough together and roll into a ball. Good luck!

Oh, Yum. This looks wonderful and so very easy to make. I'm thinking about adding some bacon bits as well
Thanks for sharing the recipe. I just know that this will be a favorite in our household even tho it is just myself and my dear hubby of 45 years
