I’m partnering with Wayfair to Change Your Rug Change Your Room to add the finishing touches to our log cabin living room.
What a year this has been. I started out sharing the steps that went into building our log cabin but as life goes, I just couldn’t keep up. We moved into the new house in February and I’m just now getting around to hanging pictures and decorating.
We went with a barn wood look tile for the flooring and added a dark stain to the logs. I’ve been looking for ways to bring some color into the room and this set of Splash Brushstrokes Home Dynamix Rugs from Wayfair are perfect.
My room is rather large and I didn’t want to have a gigantic rug that covered all of the tile. Living on a ranch it’s normal for dirt, mud and other things to get tracked through the house. This set came with 3 matching rugs and that worked perfect for my room.
I added the large rug in front of the club chairs that set opposite of the television. It’s a great place for the kids to stretch out in front of the tv but it doesn’t get the heavy foot traffic of the room.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to like the brightly colored rugs but it turned out really well. I ordered these curtains in aqua from Wayfair but I’m waiting on the guys to have time to put up the curtain rods. One step at a time, right? I can’t complain, I still have boxes that need unpacked.
The turquoise stripe is what sold me on these rugs. It’s my current favorite and I’m hoping my new curtains tie right in.
I am loving our log cabin. We still have some little things to finish up but it is the my favorite house that we have built. It’s cozy and comfortable and very open and spacious. One of these days I will finish out the journey of getting it built.
So much hard work goes into building your own house but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Coco approves of the cozy new rugs and I think I do too. What do you think, just right or too bright?
