Avocado Bacon-Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Everybody likes grilled cheese very once a while, but everybody is seriously gonna love this loaded version of grilled cheese! Bacon and avocado pair wonderfully with grilled cheese.

Avocado Bacon-Grilled Cheese Sandwiches ~ Easy Loaded Grilled Cheese

I added the avocado and this is one of my go to meals for summer.  They go together really quick and are so delicious. Great served with mac and cheese or tomato soup. Perfect for lunch or supper they are sure to be a hit!

Ingredients Needed:

bacon, sliced in half, cooked and drained

bread slices (white or wheat your choice)

butter, softened

slices american cheese

slices provolone or swiss cheese

avocados, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

lemon juice

salt

fresh ground pepper

granulated garlic

shredded lettuce

mayo

How To Make:

Pre-heat a griddle or non-stick skillet.  

Butter 12 slices of bread on one side.  

Place 6 slices of bread, butter side down on griddle, top with one slice each of american and provolone cheese.  

Top with other 6 buttered slices of bread (butter side out).  

Meanwhile, lightly toast 6 other slices in toaster.  

Flip grilled cheese sandwiches when they are lightly browned and allow to cook on the other side.  

Remove from griddle when lightly browned and cheese is melted.

Sprinkle avocado slices with lemon juice, salt, pepper and garlic.

Sandwich assembly:

Spread outside of grilled cheese on one side with mayo, layer cooked bacon slices, sliced avocado,  lettuce and a slice of toast  that has been spread with mayo. Cut in half diagonally and serve.
