Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs

Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs are a sweet treat that can be made in about 20 minutes with only 5 ingredients. Serve this quick and easy treat for a quick weekend breakfast or top with vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.

Pie is probably the most requested dessert at our house but it’s the one I make the least often. I just hate fooling with pie crust when cookies and cakes are faster and easier. Well that is until I made these apple pie bombs! It is seriously simple and the crust is made with canned biscuit dough.

Ingredients for Churro Apple Pie Bombs:

Ingredients for apple pie bombs

  • Canned Biscuits
  • Apple Pie Filling
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon

How to Make Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs:

apple pie filling being cut up with a knife and fork in an orange bowl

  • Open pie filling and pour into a bowl. Using a fork and a knife, cut the apple slices into small pieces. One can of pie filling will fill 2 cans of canned biscuits. I used half and saved the rest to make these again soon. Just store leftover pie filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not store in the can it came in.

  • Fold edges of the biscuit together and pinch to seal. Try not to get the pie filling on the edges of the biscuits, because it doesn’t want to stick together if you do.

  • Place filled biscuits into the air fryer basket about 2 inches apart. My basket held 8 at a time. You don’t want the biscuits to touch so they cook evenly.

  1. These were amazing and so easy to make! My kids and I don’t usually eat apple desserts but from now on we will! I had to promise I’d make these at least once a week for them. 🙂

    1. Hi Monica,
You can but honestly it would be better in the oven. I think they might want to come apart in the oil and the filling leak out. Let me know if you try it.

  2. Are these baked using the air fryer setting or a bake setting on your Air Fryer? Mine has multiple settings.

    1. Hi Amy,
I preheat at 350° for 5 minutes and bake at 350°. You can find all of the instructions in the printable recipe card. I hope that helps.

    2. Thank you for asking your question and to Milisa for repying as that was also my question, whether she cooked them at the same temperature as pre-heating.

  3. Re: Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs — absolutely amazing. Delicious and so easy to make. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

  4. Hi,
I live in Glasgow, haven’t seen canned biscuits on supermarket shelves, any help in replicating the recipe for biscuits from scratch, would be lovely. Thanks

    1. Hi Margaret,
Canned biscuits are really not at all like homemade biscuits. I did a little research and I think if you have Jus-Rol dough available, that might be close to our canned biscuits. Pie pastry or puff pastry would also work. I hope this helps.

  5. I really shocked the whole family with how good the apple pie bombs were! That roll in butter and cinnamon sugar was everything!

  6. These were so easy to make with the canned biscuits and apple pie filling. They turned out delicious, and the kids came running when the air fryer timer went off!
