Are you wondering about a music review here on a cooking blog? Well I figure I love music and you probably do too, well maybe some of you. Right? While I’m in the kitchen cooking I listen to music on my computer or the iPad. Music really has the ability to get me going, change my mood and take my mind off of heavier things.
I was offered the opportunity to review tailgates & tanlines the new album from Luke Bryan after I had written a music review for another site. It’s fun to get a listen to the entire album and boy did I win brownie points with my sixteen year old son. I was the coolest Mom for about five minutes.
So hear goes, let me know what you think. Are you a big music fan? Also I have a copy to give away, details will be below.
Music Review: Luke Bryan- tailgates & tanlines
When a Luke Bryan song comes on the radio, you can’t help but turn it up and sing along. I think the new album tailgates & tanlines is the music country fans are keen to hear. You’ve heard “Shake it for me” and sang along, haven’t you? It’s impossible not to!
I heard an interview on the radio where Luke talked about writing “Shake it for me”. He said they were listening to hip hop and that was their inspiration. I thought it was funny, and I always like to know the stories behind great songs. Right now it is the fast-rising single of his career and has been certified Gold.
“My path is exactly where I want it to be,” Luke says. “I’m doing my thing. I’m getting better with every album.” Luke’s co-wrote eight of the thirteen songs from tailgates & tanlines and is probably his best album yet.
I am enjoying the album, I play it in the car and at work without skipping songs. Now, it is not very often that an album comes along that I like every song, but tailgates and tanlines is my kind of music.
My favorites are “Muckalee Creek Water” which to me is reminscent of John Anderson and “Tailgate Blues” a great sing-a-long about lost love.
I highly recommend tailgates and tanlines for all country music fans. Luke Bryan is a true talent among the rising stars in country music. It’s the kind of album that you will listen to over and over.
