Sometimes brownies just aren’t enough, so I make a homemade chocolate sauce to add to brownies and ice cream and what’s all that without a little whipped cream? This is super rich and the calories would be unmentionable but who’s counting anyhow? Certainly not me! You can use a brownie mix or my recipe for Easy Brownies. I always forget to buy the mixes and this recipe is just as easy and the ingredients are standard pantry items.
Vanilla Ice Cream
1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup half and half
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a medium glass bowl, combine chocolate chips and half and half and stir together. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until chocolate is melted and smooth. Stir in butter and vanilla.
Cut brownies into 3 inch squares, place in a bowl or sundae dish, add one large scoop of vanilla ice cream, top with chocolate sauce and whip cream.
