I bought a handful of Milky Way candy bars at the grocery store the other day.  I had no idea what I was going to do with them and then I decided cupcakes were in order.  I’ve seen recipes for Milky Way Cake but I didn’t want something quite that rich.

I have to admit in the time it took the cupcakes to cool, the boys had eaten half of the batch of chocolate cupcakes with no icing.  So this Milky Way Icing recipe is for 12 cupcakes.  Double it if you need it for 24.

Milky Way Icing - Miss in the Kitchen

I am not the best at icing cakes or cupcakes so I loved folding some extra chunks of Milky Way bars into the icing.  It gave it some texture and I didn’t worry about perfectly piped icing.

We have finally received some much needed moisture.  Of course it came in the form of a blizzard.  We had some incredibly deep drifts and the kids had a ball playing in them.

Notice he doesn’t even have his coat on!  It did warm up when the blizzard was over and with the sunshine it wasn’t too bad until you were covered in snow.  Hot chocolate and chocolate cupcakes with Milky Way Icing seemed to hit the spot after playing in the snow.

Milky Way Bars are one of my favorites, I’ve even made Candy Bar Brownies with them.  What is your favorite Candy Bar?
