A few weeks ago I received an offer to try the new Brookside Chocolates. Of course I said yes! Fast forward a few days to Friday. My little guy wakes up for school and says his belly hurts. Since he declared the night before that he wasn’t going to school the next day, I didn’t really believe him.
Mid morning the school calls because he doesn’t feel good. The nurse says to watch for appendicitis. So I take him home and he rests. By the afternoon he still isn’t feeling too good. I call the doctors office and they advise us to bring him in. Keep in mind the doctors office is an hour and a half drive for us.
We didn’t want to chance waiting until midnight to go rushing to the hospital if this was something serious. The thought of our little guy having to be rushed into surgery was worrisome. We arrive at the doctors office which is full of really sick kids with runny noses and the worst cough I’ve ever heard.
After a thorough examination the doctor says our little guy has “a lot of activity in his guts” which meant he was probably going to have the stomach flu. What a relief! I was so worried and it just turned out to be a belly ache. It’s so hard to tell with kids but I always try to be on the safe side and get it checked out if have any doubts.
It was probably 8 o’clock that night by the time we got back home we were exhausted from the trip and the stress. The UPS driver had left a huge box addressed to me.
Inside I found the nicest hand written note with the Brookside Chocolate and a few things hand picked just for me, based on my Pinterest pages! I was overwhelmed. It melted away the long day and stress, perfect timing.
At that point we ripped open the chocolates and started trying them. Wonderful! Delicious! Brookside Chocolates are not your average every day chocolate candy.
