Breakfast treats are one of my favorite things about the weekend and Cinnamon Apple Breakfast Dumplings are my new favorite.  Especially as the fall bounty of apples arrive.  These sweet treats are unbelievably easy and simple!

I’m talking 2 ingredients, put it together in maybe 1o minutes and it bakes for 20 minutes and then pure delight! Like fresh baked pastries without going to the bakery or all of the effort.

These days I crave simple things.  I tend to get a bit overwhelmed with how busy my life is.  Maybe it’s that I’m not the best time manager or maybe it’s just that my life has been a little or a lot on the crazy side. Which ever the case, these Cinnamon Apple Breakfast Dumplings made me very happy.  They made my boys very happy too. They did not last past lunchtime, every last crumb was gone.

I know it’s a little early to be thinking about the upcoming holidays, but I tell you this would be the ideal breakfast for Christmas morning!  Okay I admit I’ve already started Christmas shopping, but just some little stuff that I couldn’t pass up.  I’m usually a last minute shopper.

Besides, I don’t have time for much shopping just yet, extra time is focused on second grade homework, who has time for fun stuff like shopping and blogging?  It’s driving me crazy can you tell?

I love it when we have homework and you must use colored pencils, not crayons!  Oh the horror of using the wrong coloring utensil.  It tries my patience I tell you.  I know my kids learn outside of the classroom and sometimes the school agenda just seems to be too much.  I’m climbing off of my complaining pedestal now please forgive me and understand why my blogging schedule has been a little unpredictable.   I just hope you will try these Cinnamon Apple Breakfast Dumplings soon!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls, like Pillsbury Grands
  • 2 1/2 Golden Delicious apples

Cooking Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Remove cinnamon rolls from can and set icing aside.  Separate into rolls and cut each length in half.

Core apples and cut into eighths.

Wrap a cinnamon roll strip around an apple wedge and place seam side down on a greased or lined baking sheet.

Repeat with remaining ingredients, placing about 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

Bake 20 minutes or until bread is cooked through.

Drizzle packaged icing over each dumpling and serve immediately.

Enjoy!

What a great, quick and easy breakfast treat. And what a lovely little plate you served them on. My grandkids are going to love these the next time they come to visit.

I have an overabundance of apples from my CSA, and this looks like a fantastic way to use some of them up!
