The really cool temperatures are creeping in here in Wyoming and nothing warms you up like a nice cup of hot cocoa. I decided to give my cocoa a new twist with some Nutella and cinnamon. I get teased a lot about my fondness of Nutella and when my husband eyed my hot cocoa the teasing began. He said, “Well one time at Nutella camp.” I just laughed and immediately started thinking about Camp Nutella, would’nt that be fun!
This hot cocoa is so easy and it is really tasty. I’ve had the hazelnut hot chocolate mix but it just wasn’t as flavorful as the Nutella hot cocoa. Plus with a touch of cinnamon it is over the top. I like it so much that I probably won’t be making regular hot cocoa any time soon.
I will probably be packing this around in my coffee mug all winter long. What is your favorite winter time beverage?
Cinnamon-Nutella Hot Cocoa
Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons Nutella
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- whipped cream for garnish
Cooking Directions:
Heat milk in a small sauce pan, stirring frequently until hot. Stir in Nutella and cinnamon, whisk until smooth and all combined. Pour into 2 cups and top with whipped cream. Sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon if you like.
Makes 2 servings, double it if you like.
Enjoy!

This is definitely my kind of drink! I have the Nutella, I have the cinnamon….I just need to get some milk! (ran out today!)
I’m having fun with new hot cocoa recipes lately. I just did a white hot chocolate and a peanut butter hot chocolate. Now I NEED to try this one!
I will definately try this cocoa when I want a yummy dessert. I also love to make my hot chocolate with a dash of Cayenne Pepper. Sweet and spicy done right.
I always put cinnamon in my hot cocoa, but we’ve never thought to add nutella. This looks like a tasty treat on a cold day. Great idea (despite your husbands teasing!)
Sounds so heart-warming. I love Saigon cinnamon, especially Spice Islands…it’s the best!

MMMM I can never get enough Nutella, and this looks fabulous! I never thought of combining cinnamon with the Nutella flavor, but I bet it’s a delicious combo.
