Beef and Broccoli

Sizzling Skillets and Other One-Pot Wonders is proving to be one of the best cookbooks that I have in my collection.  I had a big day out working with my husband and I have to say it takes a lot for me to keep up with him. Okay, so I don’t really keep up, but I worked harder than usual.  Keeping house and cooking doesn’t really keep me in shape for real manual labor.

I do like to get out and help, I do things that I never thought I would, like driving the track hoe.   That was interesting; well it was for me anyway.  I think it was easier on my husband before I started helping.  When the little guy got home from school, I headed into the kitchen to see what was quick to fix for supper.   I  had been eyeing this Beef and Broccoli recipe from Emeril’s cookbook and it seemed to be just the ticket.6146029256 ca09993e0c z8 229x300 Beef & Broccoli: One Pot Wonder

The prep work didn’t take long and the actual cooking time was less than 20 minutes, including the rice.  Steak, chopped broccoli, red peppers, garlic and ginger quickly stir fried with a sauce that rivals any Chinese take-out!  What more could you ask for?  The older boys were away for a football game so I halved the recipe and it was plenty for the three of us at home.  I’m not sharing this recipe with you today but I am having another giveaway.

I have ANOTHER GIVEAWAY!!!

This is one recipe I’m dying to get my hands on! I love making chinese food that actually tastes like you got it from a chinese restaurant and this looks like just the ticket.

I order Broccoli & Beef nearly every time I get Chinese takeout. We have 4 Chinese restaurants in this fairly small town of 17,000+ and I love it.

I read this post earlier today following your Facebook page and 30 minutes after I read it, I wanted to read it again. ;-)

Definitely the Beef & Broccoli. That’s my go-to dish when I make stir fry or when I order out from a Chinese recipe. I like it with a little extra spice!

Tough choice! … I’ll pick Cajun Shrimp Stew because of the layers and layers of flavor — sort of like “one pot autumn!” :) (Although your pork chops with onions and apples were a classic fall combo, too!)
