Feeding teenage boys is a challenge. Add some hard work in the mix and then it really becomes a challenge to get them filled up and their growing bodies satisfied. Steak is sure to do the trick. Served on thick slices of whole grain toast that has been spread with delicious Kerry Gold Garlic & Herb Butter, along with a few sweet peppers and a drizzle of blue cheese dressing, it really was filling but also full of flavor. This is truly one of my all time favorite sandwiches. If you are or have blue cheese haters substitute your favorite steak sauce or even Ranch dressing. I fried a few corn tortillas for homemade chips and threw together some homemade salsa, it was perfect summer time fare.
Sirloin Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 1 pound sirloin steak, grilled to desired doneness
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup sweet peppers, tops, seeds and ribs removed and sliced thinly
- 8 slices whole grain wheat bread
- 2 tablespoons KerryGold Garlic & Herb Butter (or homemade garlic butter)
- 1/4 cup blue cheese dressing
Cooking Directions:
Allow steak to rest at least five minutes before thinly slicing. Meanwhile, add 1 tablespoon of butter to a skillet and saute peppers, just until they start to soften.
Spread one side of each slice of bread with garlic butter and lightly toast.
Layer sliced steak and a few peppers over buttered side of toast and drizzle with blue cheese dressing top with another slice of toast.
Enjoy!

ohh love that you added the herb butter!
This sounds so satisfying and can imagine that it might even fill up some hungry teenaged boys. The herb butter is a really nice touch.

Feeding teenage children (boys and girls) is a challenge, and I can’t even begin to imagine how much your boys and husband eat after working the cattle all day! This looks delicious, Milisa!
Sirloin is so underrated and crazy-versatile. It always comes out of my freezer before any KC/NY strip does (I save those for company and still look good doing it
Steak sandwiches are the best!
