Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream Pie

Nestle Kitchens is holding a pie contest over on facebook.  A pie contest got my attention right away because as you know, I love pie.  It doesn’t take a lot of motivation to get me in the kitchen especially when the outcome is pie.  Pies get my family’s attention quicker than any other dessert and this was no exception.

I’ve probably told this story before but in case you missed it, here is my favorite pie story.  When my oldest son was in first grade his teacher had each kid draw a picture and write a sentance including the phrase, “My mom….” describing what we mothers do.  The teacher took all of the pages and made a book for the each kid in the class to read.  Most kids said that their Mom worked really hard, or was always cleaning, or that their Mom would sing songs, but not my kid.  My son’s page went something like this.  ”My Mom sits on the couch and watches movies and eats leftover pie.”  The other mothers found it quite amusing.  Pretty funny what kids say about their parents.  I know I told some doozies that we still laugh about today.

Well head on over to Nestle’s Contest facebook page for the recipe and be sure to check out all of the great pies and if you have a favorite pie you can enter too!  Wish me luck!

Enjoy!

That is a funny story! Kid’s really do say the funniest things, don’t they? When my son (my first born) was three and in pre-school his teacher asked the class “where does milk comes from?” The children answered “from the grocery store” and “from cows”. My son raised his hand proudly and answered “from my Mommy- she feeds it to my baby sister”! When my daughter was three and in pre-school, she told her classmates that her Daddy slept in his underwear! You know what else is funny? The teachers can’t wait to share with you what your children say! Oh, the stories that pre-school teachers can tell! :-)

Have a great weekend, Milisa! I am off to get that pie recipe! :-)

Good luck in the contest!
Btw, did you ever find out about the peanut butter honey bars contest you entered for Food Network Magazine?

I couldn’t ever find out, so I am guessing I didn’t win.
